What is Dual Stream for video surveillance?

In network video surveillance,the analog audio&video signals are imaging, capturing and encoding to digital audio&video signal to transfer on network is commonly called "stream".
Dual stream, that means it has 2 kinds of stream and enables you to take advantage of two different streams from an IP camera, NVR or DVR. One stream can be high definition video for recording, while the other stream can be a lower resolution for live display. (We normally need remote view on mobile phone.)

Picture 1 shows the main stream setting:

Picture 2 shows the sub stream setting:

“System”→”Encode”, here you could set: channel, compression, resolution,frame rate(FPS), bit rate type, quality(Kb/S),1 Frame interval, video/audio.

If your network is good, you could set sub stream higher resolution. On the contrary, set it lower resolution.
